Trumpet Teaching

Adrian is a Melbourne-based trumpet player currently completing his Bachelor of Music Performance with Honours at the University of
Parents are more than welcome to sit in on their children's lessons. Adrian gladly welcomes adult students, even absolute beginners. There are two main focuses in his teaching:

  • Learning the music that you actually enjoy. Do you love the music from Star Wars? Fantastic. Would you prefer to work on some pop/jazz songs? Perfect. Do you love classical music? Great. When students bring their musical interest and excitement to lessons, it is fulfilling for everyone involved.

  • Fostering the fundamentals of good rhythm, intonation, musicianship and technique to develop students into versatile trumpet players. AMEB coaching available.

Adrian Meyer holds a valid Working with Children Check through 24-11-22.

 Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where do lessons take place?

A: Lessons take place in the student’s home.

Q: I don’t have a trumpet, what trumpet should I buy?

A: I have found that Yamaha make very reliable and good quality instruments for beginners, and they are generally what I recommend. Below are two (new) trumpets that would be good.

Yamaha YTR2330 Student Trumpet

Yamaha YTR2330S Student Trumpet - Silver Plate Finish

If you are looking for a second hand instrument I would recommend looking on Gumtree for a bargain. I would be happy to offer advice on any potential purchases - a beginner used instrument would cost approx around $350. I would look for a similar used Yamaha model. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
